Wearable art will forever be my favorite type of art. Nearly 10 years ago I first discovered Huichol art and instantly fell in love. I have personally been collecting these pieces for my personal collection ever since. After getting constant compliments on my pieces, I decided I would offer some to you! On my most recent visit to Yelapa, Jalisco, Mexico, I was fortunate enough to once again come in contact with the same Huichol couple whom I have been purchasing pieces from over the past 10 years.
The Huichol people are an indigenous people of Mexico living in the Sierra Madre Occidental range in the states of Nayarit, Jalisco, Zacatecas, and Durango. They make beautiful beaded jewelry and beaded artwork full of symbolism and colors.
This bracelet is 100% huichol made. I am the only middle man in this purchasing direct from the maker.
